Mada conducts nation-wide campaigns throughout the year to raise awareness about the positive impact of assistive technology in the lives of persons with disabilities in Qatar.
The campaigns focus on reaching out to various stakeholders within the PwD eco-system, emphasizing the message that Persons with Disabilities are just as capable as any other individual when it comes to education, employment or community participation.
Through its awareness strategies, Mada aims to encourage different stakeholders to adopt accessible practices within their areas of operations for better access to community.
The recently held Second National Autistic Forum 2016 reflects Mada’s continued endeavour to enable all PwDs with equal access to life. The forum aimed to educate parents and community members, and to create awareness, obtain integration and gather decision makers to contribute to improving the services for the autism community throughout Qatar.
In its on-going effort to accelerate awareness, Mada will also be organizing The Gulf Region Education Assistive Technology Conference (GREAT-2017) in April, a first of its kind conference, dedicated to focusing on education practices in ICT and AT in the Gulf region. The conference, held in partnership with the Assistive Technology Industry Association will feature renowned industry experts who will use this platform to educate and exchange information on best practices and current trends in the field of ICT and AT.
These initiatives reaffirm Mada’s commitment as a public non-profit organization to provide a suitable platform to address the rights and needs of persons with disabilities.
