Education Open Training Programs

Mada organizes a number of Education Open Training sessions that focus on Education stakeholders. Teachers, therapists and educators who are working with PWDs are all invited to attend this program. The training sessions aim to improve lives of students with functional limitation and help them to access curriculum in Qatar by providing them with the latest and relevant information on AT processes and technology. The training will be conducted in Arabic and/or English.

    Go talk now is a customizble AAC app for iPad. It helps people who are non-verbal, minimally verbal or have difficulties communicating by providing them the tool that can deliver their message to the others around them. During the training session we will navigate the app and introduce the techniques to use it with individuals with learning difficulties. in addition, we will train on making the symbols/pictures and how to record the voice. Following the training the audience are expected to be able to train others on using it for their communication needs.

    This session will highlight the importance of mind mapping and brainstorming software, developed by XMind Ltd. In addition we are going to look at the management elements of the software which can capture ideas, clarify thinking and manage complex information for disabled people. The session will also presents the free ATbar browser extension which can allow disabled people to change the look and feel of webpages, increase and decrease font sizes, have text read aloud, use coloured overlays, readability and a dictionary to aid reading.
