Assistive Technology Center (Mada) and SASOL sign a MOU at GREAT2018


At GREAT2018 conference organized by Mada on 23-25 April, 2018, Assistive Technology Center (Mada) and SASOL the international integrated chemicals and energy company represented by "Accessible Qatar" initiative, signed a MOU to organize cooperation in the field of e-Accessibility and Physical Accessibility.

​Doha, 25 April 2017: Qatar Assistive Technology Center (MADA), will start its first Gulf Region Education Assistive Technology Conference (GREAT) today, April 25, 2017, at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) in Doha. The event consists of education programs, which will feature globally recognized experts delivering Master Classes and Keynotes. The event is designed to provide the necessary tools and knowledge for attendees to solve the toughest challenges when it comes to the education of PWD and the latest AT practices.

​​DOHA, QATAR, 2nd APRIL 2017: Education is a primary area of focus within MADA strategy, and its Gulf Region Education Assistive Technology Conference (GREAT) is a first in the region, taking place between April 23 to 26, 2017, at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) in Doha. The event was inaugurated on April 25, by HE Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti and HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Wahed Al-Hammadi . All employees showed their support by wearing green, the official color of the occasion that occurs on April 15 every year and was launched by the "Wifaq", Qatar Family Consulting Center. Mada supports PWD and their families in Qatar by providing them with knowledge about the latest in Assistive Technology and ensures they stay connected to a world that depends on Information and Communication Technology....


Doha, Qatar, 1st April 2017: Qatar Assistive Technology Center (Mada), hosted a workshop during its partnership with the Accessible Qatar Conference on May 8 to 9, 2017 at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center. In line with its efforts to empower People with Disabilities (PWD) through assistive technology, Mada hosted an educational session on Strategies and Best Practices for Creating Accessible Work Environments. Accessible Qatar Conference was the first of its kind in the region and provided knowledge sharing in order to create awareness and explore the importance of accessibility for all patrons.

This partnership will help see Mada further develop its Innovation Program with the help of DIC's two and a half year business incubation program for entrepreneurs with Assistive Technology ideas. Mada is committed to supporting PWD in Qatar and providing them with the latest in Assistive Technologies to ensure they stay connected to a world with ever changing technologies.


​DOHA, QATAR, 6 MARCH 2017: Qatar Assistive Technology Center (Mada) is the official QITCOM 2017 Accessibility Partner, Qatar’s biggest digital event, which is taking place from the 6th to the 8th of March at Qatar National Convention Centre, will benefit persons with disabilities (PWD) with accessibility features throughout the event. In addition, Mada will also present its Innovation Program that is aimed at developing an Assistive Technology Market in Qatar.

​​DOHA, QATAR, 2nd MARCH 2017: Qatar Assistive Technology Center (Mada) took part in the Annual Youth Conference, Empower 2017, which was held on March 2 – 4. During the event, Mada hosted a workshop that discussed the fundamentals of accessibility and its universal design, which was presented by Ahmed Habib a Policy Expert at Mada. Held at the Hamad Bin Khalifa University - Student Center at Qatar Foundation, the participation in Empower 2017 supported Mada in reaching its strategic goals and teaching others about the importance of building accessible spaces, content and programs.


The program aims to encourage the establishment of a private sector assistive technologies market and increase awareness among innovators.


The non-profit organization strives to empower Persons with Disabilities in Qatar by educating the public.


Mada showcases how it helps overcome obstacles faced by Persons  with Disabilities through the use of ICT.


The Information Systems Department of the Ministry of Interior has obtained the Access Certified Award from Mada (Qatar Assistive Technology Center) for applying the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 AA (WCAG 2.0 AA), which aim to ensure that websites have accessible features for Persons  with disabilities.


Mada aims to reach its strategic goals with the help of its partnerships with high profile companies like AECOM.
