The “Jumla Sign Language” project is considered a qualitative leap in the lives of persons with disabilities, enabling them to access information and communication technology through their mother tongue, sign language. The outcomes of the project are considered unique innovations and the first of its kind in the world as it has been developed to be the first virtual Qatari sign language translator and the first open source database to support innovators and researchers, in addition to another several tools.
